WSJ Report Details Bill Clinton’s 50th Birthday Note to Epstein

The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that former President Bill Clinton was one of several individuals who extended birthday greetings to convicted sex offender and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein for his 50th birthday in 2003.

Clinton’s name has emerged multiple times in relation to Epstein, who passed away in prison six years ago. Relevant documents and testimonies have been made public, and Clinton was among several prominent figures mentioned in court documents released last year.

Additionally, Clinton’s name is listed on flight logs associated with a private jet owned by Epstein, which made several trips between 2002 and 2003, according to reports; however, there have been no reports or evidence indicating Clinton’s involvement in Epstein’s sex crimes.

“In 2002 and 2003, President Clinton undertook a total of four journeys on Jeffrey Epstein’s aircraft: one to Europe, one to Asia, and two to Africa, which included stops related to the activities of the Clinton Foundation,” stated Clinton spokesman Angel Urena in 2019.

The report released on Thursday coincides with President Donald Trump’s administration facing criticism regarding its management of the Epstein investigation. Earlier this month, the Department of Justice published a two-page memo concluding that Epstein’s death in 2019 was a suicide.

This memo incited outrage among Trump’s MAGA supporters, as it contradicted years of conspiracy theories—propagated by Attorney General Pam Bondi and other Trump officials—claiming that Epstein was murdered as part of a larger government cover-up.

According to the Journal, Clinton’s message to Epstein was penned in the former president’s “distinctive scrawl.”

“It’s reassuring, isn’t it, to have endured as long, through all the years of learning and knowing, adventures and [illegible word], and also to maintain your childlike curiosity, the ambition to effect change, and the comfort of friends,” the letter reportedly stated.

In a deposition conducted in May 2016, Johanna Sjoberg—one of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged victims—was interrogated about former President Bill Clinton.

During the deposition, Sjoberg testified, “[Epstein] mentioned once that Clinton prefers younger individuals, referring specifically to girls,” as reported by Newsweek.

A representative for Clinton chose not to comment on the birthday message referenced by the Wall Street Journal, instead highlighting a previous statement that claimed the former president had cut ties with Epstein over ten years prior to the financier’s arrest in 2019 and was unaware of his criminal activities.

The report released on Thursday follows a Journal article from the previous week, which detailed a different birthday letter purportedly authored by Trump for Epstein’s 50th birthday. The report indicated that the note contained typewritten text surrounded by the outline of a nude woman, with Trump’s signature positioned beneath the woman’s waist to mimic pubic hair.

The note concluded with the message, “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret,” according to the Journal.

Trump has strongly denied having written the note and stated that he never includes drawings when composing letters. Additionally, he has initiated a multi-billion-dollar lawsuit against the Journal and its owner, Rupert Murdoch.

The Journal noted that the birthday messages from Trump and Clinton were part of a collection of letters gathered by Epstein’s long-time associate and former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell. She compiled these messages into a leather-bound album and gifted it to Epstein for his 50th birthday.

Last week, Trump also instructed Bondi to disclose “any and all” grand jury testimonies related to the Epstein investigation, seeking to eliminate what he termed “ridiculous” scrutiny surrounding the Epstein documents.

However, on Wednesday, a federal judge in Florida rejected a request to unseal grand jury documents associated with the Epstein investigation. The Trump administration is still awaiting decisions on several other requests to release additional grand jury materials, as reported by Newsweek.
